Can Cun

Saímos de Chichén Itzá com destino à Can Cun. 2h e meia de viagem à nossa espera. Estávamos um pouco cansados e dormimos a maior parte da viagem. Mostrei pro pai como funcionava o google maps no meu tablet e como o gps mostrava onde estávamos e como a gente se movimentava no mapa. Ele curtiu e queria um igual. A mãe ficou com dó e pediu pra comprar um tablet pra ele. Ele olhava com cara triste porque Mario tava jogando no tablet dele e eu no meu. O pai tava sentado com a gente no fundão porque a mãe quis sentar na frente com o ar condicionado e pra manter o motorista acordado.

We left Chichen Itza towards Can Cun. 2h and a half of trip ahead. We were a bit tired so we slept most part of the trip. I showed dad how google maps works on my tablet and how the gps tracks us as we move in the map. He liked it and he wanted one himself. Mom felt pitty and asked me to buy a table to him. He looked sad because Mario was playing with his tablet and I was as well on mine. Dad was sitting at the back with us because mom wanted to seat near the A/C and to make sure that the driver would not fall asleep.

 

Daí vimos a mudança na paisagem e o cartaz dizendo Can Cun. A cidade é dividida na própria cidade e na zona hoteleira que é praticamente uma "tripa" de terra rodeada pelo mar do Caribe (lotada de hotéis) e um lago salgado natural.Vai saber se é natural mesmo. Entramos na Zona hoteleira e todo mundo ficava babando na janela.

Then we saw the change on the landscape and the sign written Can Cun. The city is divided by the hotel site that is basically a strip of land surrounded by the Caribbean Sea (full of hotels) and a natural salty lake. Who knows if it is truly natural. We got inside the hotel site and everybody was staring at it on the windows.

 Pequeno desvio no trajeto. Uma construção aqui na área, mas palmeiras por todos os lados. Dava para se sentir a brisa do mar também. A small detour. There was a working site in the area but there were palm trees everywhere. We could feel the sea breeze as well.

 Do lado esquerdo dá para ver o lago salgado que praticamente parece um mar. A água azul cristalina, mas não azul turquesa como o mar do Caribe. Estávamos achando tudo super chique e ficamos super impressionados de saber que a gente ía se hospedar por ali.
On the left side we could see the salty lake that basically looked like a sea. Crystal clear blue water but not as blue as the Caribbean Sea. We thought everything looked chic and we were impressed to know that we were going to be there.

 A mãe curtiu tudo. Colocaram umas fitas nos nossos pulsos e ela ficou amiguinha da mulher da recepção. Tinha uma piscina logo na entrada e a galera toda curtindo ali. Nos separaram de andares e acabamos ficando no 6o andar que era vip. Por isso, a mãe não tinha acesso ao nosso andar e tinha que ficar nos ligando para nos chamar. Fotinho do banheiro que a mãe curtiu.
Mom liked everything. They gave us some bracelets and mom became friends with the receptionist. There was a pool at the entrance and lots of people were in it. They put us on different floors and we ended up going to the 6th floor - vip floor. So mom did not have access to our floor and she had to keep calling us all the time. A picture of the bathroom that mom liked. 

 O pai e a mãe correram logo pro mar e depois foram pra piscina do hotel. Demorou um montão pra que o Mario e eu nos instaláramos no nosso apto porque a gente não sabia como fazer o elevador chegar no 6o andar. A gente acabou desistindo e usando as escadas. Encontramos os pais na piscina mas eles vieram correndo atrás da gente e o pai entrou no mar de novo.
Mom and dad went straight to the sea and then to the hotel's pool. It took us a while, Mario and I to get into the room because we did not know how to make the elevator work and take us to the 6th floor. We gave up on that and took the stairs instead. We met our parents in the pool but they ran after us and dad went to the sea again.

 Mãe curtindo a fase: "Se era pobre, não me lembro". A água era super turquesa e a areia fofinha e clara. A água era macia. Eu acho que tem menos sal do que outros mares.
Mom enjoying the motto: "If I was ever poor I don't remember it". The water was turquoise and the sand was soft and light. The water was also soft. I think it is as such because it has less salt than other seas.

 A gente tava tentando convencer a mãe de ficar por ali mesmo o restante da viagem. Tava bonito e confortável. A praia um pouco agitada, mas tava ok.
We were trying to convince mom to stay there the rest of the trip. It was beautiful and comfortable. The beach was a bit rough but it was ok.

 Tinha até esses tipos de camas na praia que a gente podia usar à vontade. A praia era praticamente propriedade do hotel e não teríamos nenhum problema. O único inconveniente foi que prometeram comida grátis o dia todo mas na hora era só o café da manhã e assim mesmo no restaurante da praia, que achei ótimo.
We even had these types of beds on the beach that we could use as we please. The beach was basically property of the hotel and we would not have any problems. The only inconvenient was that they promised free food all day but it was only breakfast and even then we could only go to the restaurant near the beach which I found great. 

O povo da recepção encheu tanto o saco do pai e da mãe que eles ficavam irritados todas as manhãs. Até que o cara do restaurante perguntou pro pai: "Señor, está molesto?" Ou algo do tipo que um dia o pai até sorriu.O tiozinho do restaurante ficou amigo do pai, ganhou presentinho e gorjeta boa no final.
 People from the reception desk tired mom and dad offering things to the point that they were always upset in the mornings. Even the guy that worked at the restaurante asked dad: "Sir, are you upset?" Or something like that but he managed to get dad to smile. The guy from the restaurant became friends with dad and he even got a present from dad and a good tip at the end.

 Eu tinha visto pela janela do quarto da mãe que tinha uma piscina com vista ao mar e chegamos até lá.
I had seen from the window of mom's room that there was a pool with sea view so we got there.

 Mario não resistiu e quis arrumar o jogo de xadrez que estava perto da piscina. Ficamos na dúvida se tínhamos feito tudo certo.
Mario did not resist it and he wanted to put the chess game in order the one that was near the pool. We were not sure if we put the pieces back to their right place.

 Depois saímos para comer. A mãe perguntou na recepção onde tinha lugar para comer. Dizia ela que logo na frente do hotel. Vista de frente. Mas na realidade ela tava procurando tour para Tulum e Playa del Carmen. Então vocês já devem imaginar a cara que o hermanito e eu fazíamos. Estávamos com fome e a mãe diz que tem um shopping há 10 minutos para a direita do hotel. Saímos caminhando e nada. Meia hora, pelo menos. Finalmente encontramos um ponto de informações. Tinha um cara igualzinho ao Cantinflas atendendo. Essa história foi um barato.
Then we left to eat something. Mom asked at the reception desk where we could find a place to eat. According to her it was right accross the hotel. That is the view facing the hotel. But at the end it was a place she was looking for tours to Tulum and Playa del Carmen. So you can imagine the faces Mario and I had when we found out. We were hungry and mom said that there was a mall 10 minutes from the hotel to the right. We walked and nothing. half an hour later and no restaurants. We finally found an information desk. there was a guy that looked just like Cantinflas at the desk. That story was hillarious.

Cantinflas: Posso ajudar?                                           Can I help you?

Pai: Sim, onde fica o centro?                                       Yes, where is downtown?

Cantinflas: Depende.                                                    That depends.

Pai: Como assim depende. Depende de quê?      What do you mean it depends? Depends on what?

Cantinflas: Depende de qual centro você quer ir.    It depends on which downtown you want to go

Pai: E quantos centros tem?                                      And how many downtowns are there?

Cantinflas: Centros de onde?                                     Downtown of where?

Pai: Daqui, da cidade. Não tem um centro?           From here, from the city. Isn't there a downtown?

Cantinflas: Tem.                                                          Yes, there is.

Pai: Então, como é que eu chego lá?                      So, how do I get there?

Cantinflas: No centro?                                                At downtown?

Pai: Sim                                                                         Yes

Cantinflas: Depende                                                     That depends.

Pai: Quantos centros tem aqui em Can Cun.              How many downtowns are there in Can Cun?

Cantinflas: Ah, tem dois.                                             Oh, there are two.

Pai: Tá e como eu faço pra chegar nesse centro.        Ok, how do I get there?

Cantinflas: Depende. Qual deles?                               That depends. Which one?

Pai: Qualquer um.                                                        Any one.

Cantinflas: Ah, o centro da zona hoteleira fica há uns 15 min daqui. Você pode tomar o ônibus.
Oh, there is one from the hotels site and it is 15 minutes from here. You can take the bus.

Pai: E onde pega o ônibus?                                        And where can I take the bus?

Cantinflas: Aqui na frente mesmo.                             Here, in front to where we are.

Pai: E o que tem nesse centro?                                  What can we find on this downtown?

Cantinflas: O da Zona Hoteleira?                             The one from the hotel site?

Pai: Sim.                                                                     Yes.

Cantinflas: Ah tem restaurantes.                                Oh, there are restaurants.

Pai: Mas isso que eu tô querendo. Lugar para comer. E o que tem no outro centro.
But that is what I want. A place to eat. And what can we find on the other downtown?

Cantinflas: Qual centro?                                           which downtown?

Pai: Ué, você não falou que tinha dois.                     Didn't you say that there were two?

Cantinflas: Ah sim, o outro é o centro da cidade.      Oh yes, the other one is the downtown of the city.

Pai: Esse então, o que tem lá. Tem restaurante?       So what can we find there? Is there a restaurant?

Cantinflas: Não, é mais para artesanato.                  No, it is more for craft work.

Pai: E qual ônibus que eu tenho que pegar para ir no centro. And which bus should I take to go?

Cantinflas: Depende.                                                 That depends.

Pai: Pro centro da zona hoteleira.                             To the downtown of the hotel site.

Cantinflas: Ah, pega o ônibus 1 e te deixa na esquina da Avenida Tulum.
Oh, you need to take bus 1 and get off on the corner of Tulum's avenue.

Pai: E se eu quero ir para o centro da cidade?   And what if I want to go to the downtown of the city?

Cantinflas: Ah, pega o ônibus 2 e te deixa na esquina da Avenida Tulum só que do outro lado da avenida.  Oh, you take bus 2 and you get off on the corner of Tulum's avenue accross the avenue.

Pai: E lá tem restaurante bom? Que tipo de comida tem lá? and is there a good restaurant there? What kind of food is there?

Cantinflas: Depende.                                                 That depends.

Pai: Depende de quê?                                                Depends on what?

Cantinflas: Depende de que tipo de comida você quer. It depends on the type of food you want.

Pai: qualquer tipo, estamos com fome.                     Any kind, we are hungry.

Cantinflas: Ah, tem restaurante atrás de mim, aqui no hotel.  
Oh, there is a restaurant behind me, from the hotel.

Pai: Não, mas não tem um restaurante mais simples, um mercado. 
No, isn't there a simpler restaurant or a market?

Cantinflas: Sim, tem um logo ali  na esquina.        Yes, there is one at the corner of this street.

Pai: E vende o quê?                                                And what do they sell in there?

Cantinflas: De tudo, sanduíches e tem um mercadinho do lado. Um Oxxo. 
Everything, sandwiches, and there is a market beside it. An Oxxo.

Pai: Mas era isso que eu queria.                          But that is what I wanted.

Cantinflas: Na verdade eu não trabalho aqui, tô cobrindo o horário para um amigo. 
Actually I don't work here I am just helping out a friend that should be here.

E, finalmente chegamos num hostel. Olhamos no mapa e não tínhamos andado praticamente nada pra chegar até ali e já tinha demorado uns 40 ou 50 min. Agora imaginem o sotaque do cara falando "Ah pues eso ya depende". hahahahahah. Eu queria sentar no chão de tanto rir.
And we finally arrived at a hostel. We looked on the map and we walked basically nothing to get there and it had already been like 40 or 50 min. Now imagine the accent of that guy saying "That depends". lol. I wanted to sit down on the floor of laughing so much.
 

A minha cara de ansiedade. Pedi um sanduíche del Chavo. Com jamón pues. 
Look at my face of anxiety. I asked for a sandwich of El Chavo. With ham of course.

O pai tava felizinho porque pediu um suco de laranja, abacaxi e limão. O tamanho do copo.
Dad was pretty happy because he ordered a mix of orange, pineapple, lemon juice. Look at the size of the glass.

Essa era nossa vista da janela do hotel. Milagrosamente estava vazio, mas como o povo de lá curte a night, a rua ficava lotadas quase que a noite toda. Enquanto isso o pai e a mãe tinham a vista da praia.
 This was our view from the hotel. It was surprisingly empty, but the people in Can Cun enjoy nightlife so the street was generally packed all night long. Meanwhile mom and dad had the sea view.

Toda vez que a gente voltava da excursão a gente ía pra piscina, para relaxar. Mãe é medrosa de mar então piscina era a única alternativa.
Every time we came back from our excursions we would go to the pool to relax. Mom is afraid of the sea so the pool was the only alternative.

Quase ninguém usava essa então a gente aproveitava bem. Nessa o pai se animou a nadar também.
Not many people used that pool so we had a lot of fun. On this occasion, dad dediced to swim a bit. 

Enquanto isso hermanito fazia isso que é vida. A gente, na verdade, estava esperando pela festa Caribeña que nos prometeram. Eu me arrumei rápido e desci para ver.
Meanwhile hermanito was doing what we call "This is life". We were actually waiting for the Caribbean night that they promised us. I got ready as soon as possible and went downstairs to check it out.

Sentei numa mesa vazia e comecei a comer de boa. Depois chegou o pessoal e acabou o show. Eles não viram quase nada. Depois chega um cara e diz que era 100 pesos por cada um. A gente nem viu o show direito. Que absurdo. Pai zoou a mãe dizendo a coitada até se arrumou e chegou aqui e nada. A mãe queria sair na night mas a gente acabou vendo filme pela tv.
I sat at an empty table and began eating all food. Then the rest of the family came when the show was already over. They barely saw a thing. Then a guy comes along and says that we owe 100 pesos each. We didn't even see the show. That was an absurd. Dad was making fun of mom that took forever to get ready and when she finally got there nothing. She wanted to go out to the nightlife but we ended up watching a movie on tv.

No último dia, a gente finalmente jantou bem no restaurante do hotel e depois saiu para passear para o lado esquerdo. Ali tinha um shopping há 10 min do hotel. Mor bonito. O pai tava mor bravo porque tinha bastante lojas com promoções e já tava fechando tudo.
On the last day we finally had a decent dinner at the hotel and then we went out to the left side this time. There was a mall 10 min from the hotel on the left side. Dad was angry that there so many stores with special offers and they were already closed.

Se tivessem ficado só em Can Cun poderiam ter curtido tudo isso. Mas não, quiseram ir para a Riviera Maia.
If they had stayed just in Can Cun they could have enjoyed all of it. But no, they wanted to go to the Mayan Riviera.

Chichén Itzá

A nossa viagem começou logo cedo. Arrumamos as maletas e ficamos esperando pelo guia que nos levaria a grande cidade de Chichén Itzá e dali já iríamos a Can Cun. A gente pensou que encontraria os argentinos lá mas era um casal holandês. Eu quis parar para ir no banheiro porque imaginava que Chichén Itzá estaria lotada com turistas. Então desci da van e deixei minha bolsa lá. Aí veio todo mundo atrás de mim e a holandesa resolveu sair do carro para esticar as pernas e largou a porta da van aberta. Quase surtei e o povo começou a me xingar porque eu tinha deixado a bolsa lá. Se todo mundo queria ir no banheiro também porque não pediram para parar. Tinha dado minha mochila com meu note pra mãe segurar, mas ela colocou no porta malas da van. O holandês estava com dor de barriga e foi buscar papel higiênico nas maletas dele. Aí vai e derruba minha mochila com meu note. Putz, já não gostava mais deles. Levei a mochila comigo dentro da van.

Our trip began early. We packed and waited for the guide that would take us to Chichen Itza and from then we would go to Can Cun. We thought that the Argentinan couple would be with us but instead it was a Dutch couple. I wanted to stop to use the restroom because I thought that it would be packed with tourists in Chichen Itza. So I got out of the van and left my bag there. Everybody came along with me except the Dutch girl but she got out of the car to stretch her legs and she left the van's door wide open. I almost got mad and people started scolding me because I left the bag there. If everybody wanted to come to the restroom why didn't they ask before? I gave mom my backpack with my laptop inside so she can hold it but she put it in the trunk of the van. The Dutch guy had stomachache and tried to find some toilet paper in the trunk in his suitcases. Then he drops my backpack with my laptop inside. Dang, I didn't like them anymore. I took my backpack with me inside of the van. 

  

O guia nos levou até um hotel resort e nos disse que a entrada para Chichén Itzá era por ali. E era sem fila. Então nosso passeio começou atravessando o arco. Tive que pagar para filmar. Por isso que estou colocando meus vídeos com propaganda pra ver se me dão algum dinheiro em troca.  

The guide took us to a resort hotel that had access to Chichen Itza. And no lines. So our trip started when we went through the arch. I had to pay to be able to record. That is why i am putting my videos with ads to see if I can get something in return. 

 A primeira construção foi de uma casa típica do povo pobre que morou por lá. Como a gente é pobre, resolvemos entrar. Não estava super ensolarado, mas a gente sentia calor então foi bom entrar nessa oca. Detalhe na mão do hermanito. O pai descobriu que podia tirar foto panorâmica e entregou a câmera para o Mario poder tirar várias fotos. Mario ficou felizinho.
The first building was a typical house of the commoners. Since we are poor we decided to go in. It wasn't very sunny but it was hot so going inside of the hut was a good idea. Check it out hermanito's hand. Dad found out that he could take panoramic pics and gave Mario the camera so he could do that. Mario was happy. 

Detalhes do vídeo. Detalhe da mãe com calor. Pra variar. Mas tava quente mesmo. Details of the video. Details of mom suffering with the heat. As usual. But it was really hot.

 E depois de passarmos por um caminho tipo labirinto a gente se deparou com a pirâmide Maravilha do Mundo Moderno. A pirâmide de Kukulcan (a serpente com penas) desce para fertilizar a terra nos solstícios. O guia nos explicou bem sobre a cidade e todos os aspectos que a gente poderia achar interessante sobre o local. Como ele tinha que explicar em inglês depois, nós aproveitamos para tirar bastante fotos. Tivemos muita sorte porque havia poucas pessoas. Depois o pai sumiu, mas eu já tinha visto que ele tava dando a volta na pirâmide. Como ele percebeu que a gente não estava indo atrás dele, ele veio correndo. Essa pirâmide pode não ser grande, mas é famosa por ter os 365 dias representados perfeitamente. E a gente só ficou olhando o pai correndo na nossa direção. Ele não tinha nos visto ainda. Então eu falei pra mãe: ele tá perdido. E ela disse: Não tá não, ele só quer correr a pirâmide inteira. E ninguém deu bola. hahahahaha.
Afterwards we walked through a maze-type way and we were then at the back of the pyramid that is considered the New Wonder of the World. The pyramid of Kukulkan (the feathered serpent) whhose god comes to the land to fertilize it every solstice. The guide told us about the city and all aspects that we could find interesting around the area. As he had to explain in English afterwards we enjoyed ourselves taking pics We were lucky that there were not many people. Dad was gone for a while but I was actually paying attention to his intentions of going around the pyramid. When he noticed that we were not following him he ran back literally. This pyramid may not be big but it is famous because it has the 365 days perfectly represented. And we kept looking at dad that was running towards us. He did not see us for a while. I told mom: I think he is lost. Then she said: No, he is not, he just wants to run the whole pyramid. And nobody else paid much attention to it. lol.

Aproveitamos para tirar várias fotos e filmar aqui de frente para a pirâmide.We enjoyed ourselves with the pics and we took lots of them apart from recording right in front of the pyramid.

 Daí eu falei: mãe tira uma foto minha aqui. Era o templo dos jaguares e das aves que eu me esqueci o nome. Ah sim, guacamaias. E o pai finalmente nos viu e ficou bem juntinho da mãe depois disso. As fotos disso estão no facebook.Then I told mom: Mom take a pic of me here. It was the temple of the jaguars and the guacamayas. I forgot the name of th bird for a while. So finally dad saw us and he stayed very close to mom afterwards. These pics are on facebook.

 A gente estava super encantado com as estruturas e a riqueza de detalhes que os restauradores conseguiram trazer para as construções. E a gente podia ver a cobra por todas as partes.
We were delighted by the structures and the details that people that restored them were able to preserve. And we could see the serpent everywhere. 

 Outra das coisas mais importantes em Chichén Itzá é o jogo de bola. O maior de todos. Era enorme. E aqui representado em uma das construções, a bola em si. O símbolo mostrava que era um jogo de vida ou morte cuja alma do perdedor ou ganhador (há controvérsias) era oferecida aos deuses.
One of the most famous things about Chichen Itza is the ball game. The largest of all. It was huge. And here, represented in one of the constructions the ball itself. The symbol stands for a life and death game whose soul winner or loser (there are controversies) was offered to the gods. 

 Essa é a vista do campo do jogo de bola. Há dois templos, sul e norte e as estruturas em que as pessoas assistiam o jogo.this is the view of the ball game field. There are two temples, south and north and structures in which they could watch the game.

 Eu curti os detalhes. Há 6 representações como essas e mostram o capitão do time que venceu ou perdeu com a cabeça decapitada do capitão do outro time. Dahora. ele parece o Usopp.
I enjoyed the details. There are 6 representations like this and they show the captain of the team that won or lost with the head of the captain of the other team. Cool. He looks like Usopp.

A gente curtiu ver todos os detalhes.We really enjoyed all details.

 Mãe curtindo tirar foto. Aqui ela ainda não sabia que eu tava tirando foto dela com as representações e a pirâmide de Kukulkan atrás. Mom having fun with pics. Here she still didn't know that I was taking pics of her with the representation of the pyramid of Kukulkan behind her.

 E essa foto também ficou super legal. Na verdade tem cartões postais assim. E se a gente colocar nossa cara aí acho que perde a graça. Lugar bonito pra caramba. E não tava cheio de gente. Depois descobrimos que lotava nos fins de semana, principalmente aos domingos. A gente foi durante a semana então tava sossegado.
This pic is also super nice. It is actually seen in postal cards. And if we put our face there I think it makes it lose its magic. A beautiful place. And it wasn't crowded. We found out later that it was crowded on weekends especially on Sundays. We were there during weekdays so it was fine.

 Essa é uma vista de onde a plateia (gente rica) ficava assistindo o jogo. Igual a Copa do Mundo. Só povo que podia gastar em entradas.
This is the view of where the expectators (rich people) would watch the games. Just like the World Cup. Only people that can afford it.

 O guia nos falou que iríamos visitar uma cisterna sagrada. Passamos por vários vendedores e chegamos lá. Pelo que o guia disse, costumava ser um local de sacrifício. Eu sei que várias pessoas vão ao México para nadar nas cisternas, mas tá louco, deve ter ossos de um monte de gente morta. Essa, por exemplo, foi usada para jogar crianças e adolescentes. Eles eram mantidos dentro de uma casinha, tipo prisão que podia ser visitada apenas pela realeza ou os feiticeiros, religiosos da época. E no dia seguinte os corpos das crianças eram jogados como sacrifício. Pra mim isso mostra que já existia pedofilia, mas eles tinham essa desculpa de que faziam pelos deuses. Mas enfim. Depois (no passado, claro) um cara americano resolveu escavar a cisterna para tirar o tesouro que ele achava que estaria escondido. Não pegou nada ou quase nada, porque ouro quem tinha eram os incas. Mas as escavadeiras quebraram o sistema natural de filtração da cisterna. Agora ela está poluída e verde. Cheira mal também o que me deu muita pena. Ficamos ali discutindo sobre a cisterna com o hermanito enquanto o guia explicava tudo para os holandeses. Pai e a mãe sumiram. Eu achei que eles estavam dentro de uma loja lá e ficamos esperando. Nada deles. Falei pro guia para voltarmos para a pirâmide que talvez eles estivessem lá. Só tem um caminho até a cisterna. Nada deles. Falei pro guia deixar os holandeses tirarem fotos da pirâmide já que eles não aproveitaram muito como a gente aproveitou enquanto que o hermanito e eu iríamos voltar à cisterna para procurar por eles. Fomos lá e niente. Eu já tava reclamando. Hermanito também já tava reclamando. Voltamos para a pirâmide de novo e vimos o pai.
the guide told us that we were going to see the sacred cistern. We walked many vendors that were on the way. According to the guide, it used to be a place used for sacrifices. I know that many people go to Mexico to swim on those cisterns but no way, there is gotta be lots of bones of dead people. This one, for example, was used to throw kids and teenagers. They were kept inside a little house, like a prison that could only be visited by the nobles or priests. To me this seems that there have been pedophilia cases since then but they had the excuse that they would do it for the gods. Yeah right. Afterwards (in the past, of course) there was an American guy that decided to excavate the cistern to take the hidden treasure. He did not get much because the gold was with the Incas. But his machines broke the natural filtration system of the cistern. Now it is polluted and green. It smells bad and it is really sad. We were discussing about it with hermanito while the guide explained everything to the Dutch. Dad and mom were one. I thought they went inside the store so we stayed there waiting for them. No signs of them. I told the guide to go back to the pyramid that maybe they would be there. There is only one way to the cistern. No signs of them. I told the guide to let the Dutch take pics of the pyramid since they did not have much time to enjoy it while hermanito and i would go back to the cistern to look out for my parents. We went there and no signs of them. I was already complaining about the situation. Hermanito was also complaining about it. We went back to the pyramid and then we saw dad.

 A gente nem visitou esse templo aqui. Ou era esse o dos guerreiros? E daí o pai falou que a mãe já estava esperando pela gente na van. E que tava assustada. O pai queria mostrar o caminho de volta e já tava indo por outro lugar. Chegamos rápido na van e o pai disse que com a mãe eles tinham se perdido e saído pela entrada do povo normal que não era pela qual a gente tinha entrado antes. Fala sério. A mãe diz que quando ela não encontrou mais a gente (não sei como se a gente não saiu da cisterna e meu tênis é vermelhão), ela foi e voltou a cisterna umas 3x. Sei. E depois preferiu se perder com o pai do que sozinha.
We didn't even visited this temple here. Or was this one the one of the warriors? so dad told us that mom was waiting for us at the van. And that she was scared. Dad wanted to show us the way out and he was already going somewhere else. We got to the van pretty quick and dad said that he and mom were lost and he left through the regular entrance and that one was not the one we took on the first place. Really?!!! Mom says that when she didn't find us (I don't know how since we didn't leave the cistern and my tennis shoes are bright red), she went back to the cistern 3x. Yeah right. And then she preferred to get lost with dad than by herself. 

Aí fomos almoçar e tinha um pessoal dançando. Primeiro dançando entre as mesas, depois com uma garrafa na cabeça. Depois com uma bandeja cheia de garrafas e em cima de uma caixa. Segundo o Mario era modo easy, normal e hard. hahahhahaa. Hermanito tava com sede e pediu mais suco de laranja pra mim e pra ele. Aí o pai vira para ele e diz: "Mario, a gente paga as bebidas mas já tô sem dinheiro porque gastei tudo nos vendedores. Comprei jogo de xadrez". E olhou felizinho. Daí falei pro hermanito: "Putz, manos al hígado".
Then we went to have lunch and we saw some people dancing. 1st they would dance near the tables, then with a bottle on their heads. Then with a tray full of bottles and on the top of a small box. According to Mario it was easy, normal and hard mode. lol. Hermanito was thirsty and he ordered more orange juice to me and to him. then dad turns to him and says: " Mario we are supposed to pay for the drinks but I have no more money because I used it all with the sellers. I bought a chess set". And he looked truly happy. So I told hermanito: "Dang, hands to the liver" (expression meaning that it is your own responsability to help to pay).

Partimos em seguida para Can Cun. Ainda tinhamos umas 2h e meia pela estrada. A mãe conseguiu ver os amigos argentinos dela. E o pior é que ainda lembravam dela. A mulher ainda gritou: Rossaaaannnaaa. Mas eles não estavam indo para Can Cun. Estavam indo para a Playa del Carmen. Assim como os holandeses. Desde então a mãe começou a chiar que a gente estava indo para o lugar errado, que a gente tinha que ir pra a Playa del Carmen, a Riviera Maia, que lá que era o point. Merecemos mesmo. Ninguém ía conseguir tirar isso da cabeça dela. A gente teria que chegar até esse lugar. E eu pensando que ía pra Can Cun veranear, beber água de coco e deitar na praia o dia todo. Já tava na cara que iríamos continuar fazendo turismo.
We left towards Can Cun. We still had 2h and a half on the road. Mom managed to see her Argentinan friends. and the worst of it is that they remembered her. The lady even shouted at her: Roddaaaannnaaa. But they were not going to Can Cun. They were going to Playa del Carmen. Just like the Dutch. Since then mom became obsessed with it and started to complain that we were going to the wrong place that we were supposed to be going to Playa del Carmen, Mayan Riviera, that only there was the right spot. We truly deserve it right? No one would ever take that away from her mind. We would have to get to that place. And all this time I thought I was going to Can Cun to enjoy my summer, drink coconut water and lie down on the beach all day long. It was pretty clear that were going to keep with the tours.
